This video demonstrate How to prevent Complication in Laparoscopic Surgery - Lecture by Dr R K Mishra. Laparoscopy is being used increasingly for major operative procedures. Although laparoscopy is considered to be minimally invasive surgery, it does not carry a minimal risk. One of the best ways to avoid complications is to recognize those situations in which they are most likely to occur. Most commonly, complications occur during the set-up phase of laparoscopic surgery, with the establishment of pneumoperitoneum and the insertion of the primary trocar. Intra-operative injuries have also been reported and include vascular, gastro-intestinal tract and urinary tract damage. We present a review addressing the prevention, recognition and management of these complications.
