Professor R K Mishra is the Head of Minimal Access Surgery at Singhania University, and the first university-qualified Master Minimal Access Surgeon of India (M.MAS). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the World Journal of Laparoscopic Surgery (WJOLS), and the General Secretary of the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons (WALS) and the International College of Robotic Surgeons (ICRS). Additionally, he is a member of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), the European Association for Transluminal Surgery (EATS), the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS), the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS), and the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association (CRSA). He is also a Fellow of the International Medical Sciences Academy (IMSA), a member of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), and the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

Professor Mishra is a highly accomplished professor, scientist, and prolific author, having written six single-authored books on Minimal Access Surgery and more than twenty chapters in different international coauthored books on Minimal Access Surgery. He has also written more than a hundred articles on various topics on Minimal Access Surgery in different international journals. For the past 12 years, he has served as the chief editor of the World Journal of Laparoscopic Surgery.

With over 25 years of experience teaching laparoscopic and 12 years of experience in da Vinci robotic surgery, Professor Mishra is one of the most experienced professors of laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He has alone trained over 11,000 surgeons, urologists, pediatric surgeons, and gynecologists from more than 138 countries. He is a Professor of Minimal Access Surgery, and his endeavor of starting a unique university program was initiated in Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, U.K., with Professor Sir Alfred Cuschieri. He completed his surgical residency and Master's degree in Minimal Access Surgery (M.MAS) from Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, University of Dundee, United Kingdom.

Participating doctors must hold an M.B.B.S. or equivalent and have at least 3 years of post-registration experience in general surgery, gynecology, urology, or possess a degree of M.S., M.D., D.N.B., or a diploma.
