This video demonstrate Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy and small Myomectomy in same patient performed by Dr R K mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurgaon. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive alternative to standard open surgery in which a special camera called a laparoscope is used to produce an inside view of the abdominal cavity. Also called "keyhole" or "band-aid" surgery, laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure because it requires several small (1/2- to 1-inch) incisions rather than a single large one in the abdomen. If the patient has multiple pathologies even though laparoscopy is feasible if ergonomics is good and surgeon has sufficient skill.

The evolution of minimal access surgery has transformed the way complex and multiple surgical conditions are managed. Performing more than one procedure in a single sitting was once considered high risk, but with advancements in laparoscopic technology and surgical expertise, combined procedures are now safe, efficient, and highly beneficial for patients. A remarkable example of this progress is the successful performance of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, and Small Myomectomy in the same patient at World Laparoscopy Hospital (WLH), Gurugram.

This case demonstrated not only surgical precision but also the advantages of comprehensive laparoscopic management under one anesthesia session. The patient presented with symptomatic gallstones causing recurrent abdominal pain, chronic appendicitis symptoms, and a small uterine fibroid responsible for pelvic discomfort and irregular bleeding. Instead of scheduling three separate surgeries, the expert laparoscopic team at WLH planned a combined minimally invasive approach.

Laparoscopic cholecystectomy was performed first. Using small trocar ports, the gallbladder was carefully dissected and removed with minimal blood loss. The magnified view provided by laparoscopy ensured clear identification of Calot’s triangle structures, reducing the risk of bile duct injury. Following this, attention was shifted to the appendix. Laparoscopic appendectomy was completed efficiently, with careful ligation of the appendicular artery and secure removal of the inflamed appendix.

The third procedure, small myomectomy, required delicate gynecological expertise. The fibroid was precisely localized on the uterine wall and excised laparoscopically, preserving uterine integrity. Intracorporeal suturing techniques were used to repair the myometrial defect, ensuring hemostasis and maintaining reproductive potential. The ability to perform advanced laparoscopic suturing highlights the high level of training and skill at WLH.

The benefits of performing all three procedures simultaneously were significant. The patient underwent only one anesthesia exposure, experienced a single recovery period, and avoided the physical and financial burden of multiple hospital admissions. Postoperative pain was minimal, hospital stay was short, and the patient resumed normal activities quickly. The cosmetic advantage of small incisions further enhanced patient satisfaction.

This combined surgery also reflects the multidisciplinary collaboration at World Laparoscopy Hospital, where general surgeons and gynecologists work together seamlessly. Such teamwork is crucial when managing patients with multiple coexisting conditions. Proper case selection, detailed preoperative evaluation, and advanced laparoscopic skills are essential to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.

In conclusion, the successful performance of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, and Small Myomectomy in the same patient at World Laparoscopy Hospital showcases the true potential of minimally invasive surgery. It highlights how modern laparoscopy can provide comprehensive, safe, and patient-centered care. This achievement reinforces WLH’s reputation as a center of excellence in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical training and practice.
