I am more interested in learning laparoscopic knotting and suturing. Please let me know what types of knot you teach in your training institute. Do you provide sufficient skill of appropriate energy source like ligasure and harmonic and knot tying technique and basics of Intra and extra corporeal knots.

Dear Dr Bisi Lina Adegbile

Laparoscopic Suturing and knotting skill is an absolute necessity to perform advanced laparoscopic surgery. The skills of knot tying and suturing take the minimal access surgeon to a higher level to perform safe, advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.

World Laparoscopy Hospital has been awarded many times for being best institute to give suturing and knotting skill. We have formulated a training program which looks into fundamental principles of suturing including Port Geometry and Anatomy of a Stitch.

This Hands-on Training Course of WLH specifically candidate centered and provide a set of skills which will act as building blocks to safe execution of knot tying and suturing. This course provides theoretical concepts, operating on animal tissue and demonstration of suturing techniques.

At the end of the course, each participant will be able to apply following knot:

Roader's Knot
Meltzer's Knot
Mishra's Knot
Pretzel Knot
Tayside Knot
Weston Knot
Square Knot
Granies Knot
Surgeons Knot
Tumble Square Knot
Dundee Jamming Knot
Aberdeen Termination Knot

In fact there is no institute in the World where you will get the skill of all these laparoscopic knotting skill except World Laparoscopy Hospital.

Electrosurgical units are the most common type of electrical equipment in the operating room of a laparoscopic surgeon. A basic understanding of electricity is needed to safely apply electrosurgical technology for patient care.

In energy sources you will have Hands On training of Harmonic scalpel, Ligasure, Enseal, PK energy and thurderbeat together will safe application of Bipolar and mono-polar electrosurgical generator.

Principles of electrosurgery must be thoroughly understood by all operating room personnel. This forms the basis for patient safety and helps a laparoscopic surgeon in early recognition of possible complications. The advantages and disadvantages of various forms of electrosurgery must be born in mind while using a particular modality. Newer technologies with more efficient hemostatic properties must be used whenever appropriate. At World Laparoscopy Hospital we thoroughly discuss this topic and you will learn how to use these energy safely.

You need to apply on your own patient these knot which you will learn. It is not possible in any institute in the World to learn laparoscopy on the patient directly. It is not ethical also.
