Hi I am have taken my post-graduation in surgery from Caribbean College of Surgeons, Barbados. My question is can I get a job to work as a laparoscopic surgeon after completing my training at WLH. I want to work for sometime at World Laparoscopy Hospital. |

Dear Dr Donovan Donald There is a condition regards to meeting the registration requirements to practice medicine in India for overseas doctors. There is a rule of Medical Council of India that foreign doctors must take and qualify the MCI screening test. Screening test refers to a mandatory qualifying examination for the purpose of recognition of foreign qualifications. According to MCI rule No person, being a citizen of India or a registered Overseas citizen of India, who obtains the recognized qualification granted by medical institution in any country outside India recognized for enrollment as medical practitioner in that country shall be entitled for enrollment by the National Council or the State Council, as the case may be, unless he qualifies the screening test in India to be conducted by the Board. I will also love to work at WLH but how-come they will provide job to everyone. After all it is a teaching hospital. |
