World Laparoscopy Hospital Started to Impart Training in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery through HD 3D Operation Theater

The Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery Training Program from World Laparoscopy Hospital brings a new, scientifically designed high-definition operation theater to improve laparoscopic and robotic surgical skill.

Gurgeon, NCR Delhi (PRWEB) October 29, 2016

A new high-definition, three-dimensional laparoscopic and DA Vinci robotic operation theater has been introduced at the World Laparoscopy Hospital (WLH), which is the first of its kind in India. The hospital now offers an Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery Training Program. This new, high-tech operation theater has digital technology which integrates the laparoscopic equipment of the operating theater with the hospital's computer system.

"Nowadays laparoscopic and robotic surgery are commonly used by gynecologists, urologists, and general surgeons for abdominal and pelvic applications. Robotic Surgery is also being used by orthopedic surgeons for spinal applications and by cardiac surgeons for minimally invasive heart surgery. In minimal access procedures, surgical instruments, along with a fiber-optic camera and lighting system, are inserted into a patient's body through a 5mm and 10mm incision, which can reduce complications and speed patient recovery. Laparoscopic and robotic surgery have unique challenges for surgeons and to overcome this they must get hands-on training," commented a spokesperson on behalf of the hospital and institute.

According to Dr Mishra, the course modules of laparoscopic surgery training are designed in such a way that doctors will easily learn laparoscopic surgery. After the successful completion of the laparoscopic surgery hands-on training program, surgeons and gynecologists will receive a Fellowship and Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery certificate from the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons.

Courses of World Laparoscopy Hospital are approved internationally by World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons. According to Dr. R. K. Mishra, the experimental laboratory training on live tissue will give the laparoscopic surgeon a broad overview of a specific technique, as well as practical knowledge and skill of laparoscopic surgery.

Minimal access surgical training for surgeons, gynecologists and pediatric surgeons is designed to provide hands-on skills to help them to perform these surgeries on their patients with confidence. This training provides surgeons with practical laparoscopic surgical skills. The robotic surgery training is designed according to the guidelines of international College of Robotic Surgeons. It can also be customized to meet the surgical need of surgeons and gynecologists.

World Laparoscopy Hospital located in Gurgaon, India, is the oldest in Asia and is an award-winning, minimal access surgical institute, providing active surgical care for the patient and best-in-class education through the international laparoscopic surgery training center since 2000. More than 7000 surgeons and gynecologists from almost every corner of the world have been trained at this laparoscopic training institute. According to Dr Mishra, WLH laparoscopic and the robotic educational program in India reflects the reorganization of minimal access surgical care need of today.

Unlike conventional open surgery, laparoscopy and robotic surgery limit a surgeon's visual field, which compromises hand-eye coordination. It also precludes the haptic, or tactile, feedback that tells a laparoscopic surgeon when an instrument is headed in the wrong direction. The services offered by our World Laparoscopy Hospital have given it a status of center of excellence, and this laparoscopic training institute was established to help surgeons and gynecologists in learning and practicing laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures. Surgeons and gynecologists from all over world come here to develop their surgical skill with the ambition of learning advanced minimal access surgical practices in the operating room.

Laparoscopic surgery is currently accepted as a safe, efficient way to manage invasive surgeries. Doctors and patients all over world have welcomed this technique as an acceptable alternative to standard open surgery. With the popularization and advance of the laparoscopic and robotic surgery, scholars are increasingly exploring and expanding their surgical scope of application. The laparoscopic course is directed at World Laparoscopy Hospital by Dr. R. K. Mishra.

Under the leadership of laparoscopic and robotic surgery unit director Dr R K Mishra, a Ninewells Medical School UK and Harvard Medical School-trained surgeon, and professor of minimal access surgery, up to 25000 medical students, residents and surgeons will be trained on the laparoscopic and DA Vinci robotic device starting in 2020.

The DA Vinci Surgical System allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with small learning curve using a robotic minimally invasive approach routinely and with confidence, surgeons can perform most of the robotic surgeries. World Laparoscopy Hospital gives Hands On training of DA Vinci robotic surgery to surgeons and gynecologists so that they can perform robotic surgery while ensuring patient safely.
