Overview:
Family planning is the process of controlling the number of children by using modern contraception and other methods of birth control. The focus is to address the unmet need for family planning—children who are born because of lack of access to permanent operative contraceptive services—and are a major cause of population boom in Rural India. It helps parents to plan their lives without being overly subject to sexual and social imperatives. It is estimated that about 215 million women worldwide lack access to modern minimal access operative contraception. It is also true that wherever it is available, the use is often limited due to cultural acceptance, women empowerment, affordability and service delivery system. These factors impacted the family planning programmes adversely.   Read more...

Learning laparoscopy remains to be an big and challenging issue to the community of surgeons and Gynecologists. Surgeons and Gynecologists in training must learn the laparoscopic techniques from modern and internationally recognized institute of Minimal Access Surgery. Due to increasing a lack of time, cost, stress, and ethical considerations, the current operating room isn't ideal learning environment. The surgeons and gynecologists of present era cannot learn laparoscopy on their patients. Various simulators, live tissue and models for laparoscopic training in urology , gynecology and general surgery with different amounts of validity and reliability can be taken in some reputed and internationally recognized institute. Wide acceptance of laparoscopic training with the use simulators and animal model has become hampered with the lack of standard and valid solutions to measure and certify competence in basic psychomotor skills.   Read more...

When someone is training to become robotic surgeon they give several hours using simulators that mimic the robotics of tools found in area of general surgery, urology or gynecological surgery. A group of doctors that train future students at World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurgaon did the test that shows students who had skills at first person shooters of video game had higher surgery skills.

To be more specific, da vinci robotic surgery takes a very narrow margin of error, and so does Call of Duty. da Vinci Robotic surgery allows for tiny, very precise incision skil. Based on Intuitive Surgical, that includes a monopoly on robotic surgical equipment, there was clearly a 29% boost in da Vinci robotics inside the operating room during the last a couple of years.   Read more...

Aprepitant is an antiemetic chemical compound that belongs to a class of drugs called substance P antagonists (SPA). It mediates its effect by blocking the neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor.

The usage of opioids following surgical treatment is of a high incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). We conducted a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to research the effect of orally administered aprepitant, a neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist, for reducing PONV in patients with fentanyl-based, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) given intravenously after gynecological laparoscopy.

Aprepitant can be used with medications to help prevent vomiting and nausea brought on by cancer drug treatment (chemotherapy). Prescription drugs is also used to prevent vomiting and nausea after surgery. Aprepitant functions by blocking one of several body's natural substances (substance P/neurokinin 1) that creates vomiting.Medicines will not treat queasiness in case you already have it.   Read more...

It is sometimes complicated to credit one individual while using pioneering in the laparoscopic approach. In 1902 Georg Kelling, of Dresden, Saxony, completed the first laparoscopic procedure in dogs too just like 1910 Hendes Christian Jacobaeus of Sweden reported the first laparoscopic operation in humans.

Within the ensuing several decades, lots of people refined making popular the approach further for laparoscopy. The development of computer nick television camera is a seminal event within the portion of laparoscopy.   Read more...

Single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS), also called single-port access (SPA), or single-site (LESS) have been widely made popular lately, having stated less discomfort and quicker restoration. da Vinci Robotic surgery lovers used themselves at the strategy, and now the da Vinci Individual surgeon da Vinci Robotic surgery has been used for several human robotic operations, mostly through the cut of the umbilicus. Routinely served surgery technological innovation has provided new choices for non-invasive surgery therapy specifically via single slot. Patients who have robotic surgery therapy treatment can now appear from the process with almost no scarring damage damage and little discomfort, thanks to a new strategy in SILS da Vinci Robotic surgery treatment. World Laparoscopy Hospital lately conducted the hospital’s first da Vinci® Single-Site™ cholecystectomy (gallbladder reduction surgery) in Apr, 2012. Using robotic assistance, our Robotic surgery therapy treatment group removed the individuals gall bladder through a 20mm cut in the belly button, making only a little, nearly hidden the begining.   Read more...

In the eight years since doctors first began operating gallbladders and appendixes through one small cut in a patient umbilicus by SILS, this remodelling of the laparoscopic strategy has produced enjoyment, critique and significant amounts of conversation. Increasing the interest of doctors, patient and market as well, the simple strategy to laparoscopy easily went from unknown to very famous, even ranking a discuss on an show of for great surgeon. It is an substitute to NOTES surgery treatment. Going from conventional laparoscopy to a strategy that is less invasive is challenging. Natural orifice surgery treatment is the organic development of that less obtrusive strategy. But it requires a exclusive expertise set, technological innovation that is not accessible, and the studying bend is so complicated. Right now, only a few facilities in the world are able to take enough some time to obtain the technological innovation to be able to force it ahead. Single-incision [laparoscopic] surgery treatment is really just like conventional laparoscopy. We are using off-the-shelf equipment and current technological innovation, and are doing techniques just like what we were doing before without presenting any prospective new morbidities. It is something that is available to the common surgery treatment group as a whole. We think what exactly is generating this is the capability of doctors in exercising, doctors who qualified during the era of laparoscopy, and doctors who were already recognized in exercise before laparoscopy was aspect of common surgery treatment, to take up this strategy.   Read more...

Family planning is an essential service and one of the most important components of population control for developing countries like India. Patients who undergo laparoscopic sterilization have faster recovery, less chance of infection, less postoperative pain, no need of hospitalization and early return to work. It is a kind of day care procedure where overnight stay of the patient is not required. There is no better permanent method of sterilization than laparoscopic sterilization.
World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons is Launching Mobile Laparoscopic Van in association with World Laparoscopy Hospital. The objective of this project is to provide family planning services to the rural population at their door steps through Laparoscopic sterilization inside a fully equipped air conditioned mobile operation theater by qualified and skilled laparoscopic surgeons.

What makes laparoscopic surgery minimally invasive is laparoscopic instruments enter the patient through narrow tubes also causes it to be visually constraining. Because they work on different tasks, surgeons all see the same view. Let's say each surgeon could control a separate view best suited towards the specific task? Inside a new paper, pediatric surgeon Dr. Francois Luks and his team of co-authors at Brown University and Hasbro Children's Hospital report that in a small in vitro trial, surgeons using their own views performed faster and much more accurately.   Read more...

Ethicon claims Covidien Sonicision Cordless Ultrasonic Dissection Set up is violating a patent issued in 1994 for any vibrating instrument having a blade and clamp to chop and coagulate tissue faster, based on a complaint filed today in federal court in Cincinnati. Ethicon is seeking compensation as well as an order to bar Covidien from selling Sonicision.

Just were built with a surgeon tell me he used the Covidien ultrasonic inside a pig lab and that it had been excellent. Didnt get into many details but said having no wires and no box would be a serious plus. Does anyone know when Covidien ultrasonic will launch or have any more information on it? If it's comparable and wireless, exactly what do we've left within our bag or what are we likely to add to make up for this? I ask because we are already losing marketshare to the new small ligasure and the G2 is nice but their just isn't lots of surgeons doing open cases when you can use it. Tie all of this along with reprocessing also it makes me wonder, how can EES survive without some form of new product? I am not referring to new Harmonic devices either as those are just to offset reprocessing.
