Pittsburgh, PABonnie Davis, a patient who fought to ensure patients knew about the risks associated with power morcellation has died at age 57 from cancer. Davis had undergone power morcellation in 2012 and was diagnosed six days later with cancer. She worked to raise awareness of the serious risks reportedly linked to the use of power morcellators, to prevent other women from going through what she went through.

Other causes that could lead people to undergo this surgery are sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes, and other morbid conditions. There are two types of gastric bypass surgery. Aqueduct-100 cervical dilator is a triple-balloon catheter that enables a controlled radial dilation of the cervix to a predetermined diameter. Aqueduct -100 combines the benefits of laminaria and Hegar Rods (the current methods) through lower risk of uterine perforation, lower rate of cervical incompetence, elimination of need for general anesthesia, and reduced number of patient visits.
