My son was operated for laparoscopic appendicectomy and after coming from operation theatre of a reputed hospital of Mumbai he suffered a scaphoid injury to his left hand, a rotator cuff tear in his left shoulder and bruised ribs. He was off study from school for a year. He returned to his education on restricted basis but because he was not able to carry out key tasks, his career is at risk. Please advice me what should I do in this case. |

Dear Rubina, Very Sorry to hear about injury of your son. We can not expect such an negligence from a reputed hospital. There is no remedy which can compensate the pain and the career of your child. But form some remedy you have an option to complaint before two authorities firstly being a consumer to a hospital you have option to complaint before Consumer Court. Secondly, you are at liberty to complaint before Medical Council Of India, who can take appropriate penal action against the hospital. In these kind of cases the most significant part is, that you must have to prove the negligence of hospital beyond reasonable doubt. With Regards ADITYA RAJESHWAR |
