Dear Sir, I got my health insurance done by star Health insurance company last year. I have paid all the premium also. Just few days ago I got severe pain in the abdomen. I went to my family physician and he saiid that it is looking like a renal pain. He adviced me ultrasonography. Ultrasonography. Reveiled that I have a 9mm stone in my right kidney. Doctor advised again for IVP. I got this test also done and in that also renal stone was confirmed. All the expenses of these all investigation I paid from my pocket. After confirming the diagnosis I went to urologist and he said for the laparoscopic surgery for renal stone. I contacted the Star insurance company for autharization of my surgery but they straight forward refused. They are saying that this kidney stone is present for long time so we will not pay. Please advice me what should I. Do in this case, I am sure that they are misleading me and there should be some law to protect the right of patient. |

Dear Jagdambika Tyagi Generally renal stone is considered as a preexisting disease and insurance company does not reimburse it unless your policy is 2 year old in continuity and not been discontinued in between. With regard R K Mishra |
