My dad had who was 85 years old had an inguinal hernia repair 2 days ago as an outpatient (lap) under general anesthesia. He had no health issues other than elevated BP and high cholesterol. He was not able to void after the procedure and was I/O cath and d/c home. He was not able to void and was very tired still under anesthesia effects. Went to ED the next morning and had foley placed as he could not urinate and did not have much urine. He had blood work to r/u PE and neg per surgeon. He has MI and intubated and passed away within 24 hours of his surgery. Is this common for someone who was healthy? |
