Medicine is a noble profession and doctors have the highest responsibilities but in Munger one Gynecologist has performed a laparoscopic hysterectomy on my daughter and after 2 wee she died. Initially, they said there is nothing to worry. Later it was told that my daughter has a ureteric injury. After few days septicemia was declared. The kept my daughter 1 week in ICU and then she died. I just want to know why it happened.

It is very unfortunate that your daughter has expired due to the complication of laparoscopic hysterectomy. Ureteric injury is one of the very common complications of laparoscopic surgery. Some studies report that over 80% of ureteral injuries are diagnosed postoperatively. Unfortunately, patients with undiagnosed injuries can have a highly variable course that causes diagnostic delay, resulting in additional hospitalization that is associated with substantial morbidity and commonly results in medicolegal litigations. It happens most commonly during securing the uterine artery at the time of laparoscopic hysterectomy. Once uterine bleeding started and surgeon wants to coagulate uterine artery, inadvertently they coagulate ureter. It is also called as remote thermal injury.
