Laparoscopy is the standard treatment of ovarian dermoid cysts and provides many advantages over laparotomy. However, the laparoscopic approach could result in chemical peritonitis caused by the spilled contents of a ruptured dermoid cyst. Good quality endo bag should be used to prevent spillage.
