Gynecology / Sep 11th, 2021 12:05 pm     A+ | a-

Most ovarian abnormalities can be managed laparoscopically. First laparoscopic salpingo-oophorectomy was performed by Semm in 1984. He reported his experience with a laparoscopic approach to oophorectomy and salpingo
oophorectomy. The ovaries are seen clearly by laparoscope because of their whiteness and knobby texture. It is seen more clearly if uterine manipulator is used and uterus is pushed towards anterior abdominal wall. Ovaries hang own in the laparoscopic field. A normal ovary is almond shaped, and approximately 3cm in its greatest diameter.

Laparoscopic Management of Ovarian Diseases – Live Stream by Dr. R. K. Mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital

The advancement of minimally invasive surgery has transformed the management of many gynecological diseases, especially ovarian disorders. In a highly educational live stream session conducted by Dr. R. K. Mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital, surgeons and medical professionals from around the world had the opportunity to observe the latest techniques in the laparoscopic management of ovarian diseases. The live surgical demonstration provided valuable insights into modern surgical methods that prioritize patient safety, faster recovery, and minimal postoperative complications.

Ovarian diseases such as ovarian cysts, endometriomas, benign ovarian tumors, and sometimes early-stage ovarian malignancies can be effectively managed using laparoscopic surgery. Compared to traditional open surgery, laparoscopy involves smaller incisions, reduced pain, minimal blood loss, and shorter hospital stays. During the live broadcast, Dr. R. K. Mishra explained the fundamental principles of minimally invasive gynecological surgery while demonstrating advanced surgical techniques in real time.

One of the key highlights of the session was the detailed explanation of patient evaluation and surgical planning. Proper diagnosis through ultrasound, imaging studies, and clinical examination plays a crucial role in determining the appropriate laparoscopic approach. Dr. Mishra emphasized the importance of careful port placement, gentle tissue handling, and precise dissection to preserve ovarian function whenever possible, especially in women of reproductive age.

During the procedure, viewers could observe how laparoscopic instruments and high-definition cameras allow surgeons to visualize the pelvic anatomy with remarkable clarity. The magnified view enables precise removal of ovarian cysts or diseased tissue while preserving healthy ovarian structures. Dr. R. K. Mishra also demonstrated techniques for cystectomy, hemostasis, and ovarian reconstruction, ensuring that fertility preservation remains a key objective when appropriate.

Another important aspect discussed in the live stream was the management of complications and the importance of surgical expertise. Laparoscopic surgery requires specialized training, excellent hand-eye coordination, and a thorough understanding of pelvic anatomy. Through educational programs at World Laparoscopy Hospital, surgeons from various countries receive hands-on training and mentorship to develop these advanced skills.

The live surgical broadcast served not only as a demonstration but also as an interactive educational platform. Participants had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss surgical decisions, and learn directly from one of the pioneers in minimal access surgery. Such sessions help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world surgical practice.

In conclusion, the live stream on laparoscopic management of ovarian diseases by Dr. R. K. Mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital highlighted the significant role of minimally invasive techniques in modern gynecological surgery. With continuous advancements in technology and surgical education, laparoscopy continues to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of surgical care worldwide. The session reinforced the importance of proper training, innovation, and global knowledge sharing in advancing the field of laparoscopic surgery.

If the egg fails to release from the follicle in the ovary an ovarian cyst may form. Small ovarian cysts are common in healthy women. Some women have more follicles than usual (polycystic ovary syndrome), which inhibits the follicles to grow normally and this will cause cycle irregularities. Various types of ovarian diseases exist. Some of the ovarian diseases or disorders include: endometriosis, ovarian cysts, ovarian epithelial cancer, ovarian germ cell tumors, ovarian low malignant potential tumors, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
