This video demonstrates laparoscopic surgery for Round Ligament Fibroid Removal by Two Port by Dr. R.K. Mishra at World Laparoscopy Hospital.

Round ligament fibroids occur in the extraperitoneal portion of the ligament and are mostly seen to the right of the adnexa for still unknown reasons. These fibroids usually resemble an inguinal hernia, lymphadenopathies, ovarian cysts, and other pelvic masses because of the localization. There are several cases reporting management of round ligament fibroids via laparotomy in the literature. However, with recent advancements in laparoscopic surgery, laparoscopic approaches are more feasible and advantageous than laparotomy, with the additional benefits of a shorter hospital stay and recovery periods.

The diagnosis of round ligament fibroids is challenging. The presentation may be asymptomatic but must be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis of adnexal torsions. Laparoscopy can be the first choice where operation room settings are available.

Fibroids, also known as leiomyomas, are benign smooth muscle tumors of the uterus that can affect women’s reproductive health and quality of life. Among the rare types of fibroids, round ligament fibroids present unique surgical challenges due to their atypical location along the round ligament of the uterus. These fibroids can cause pelvic pain, pressure symptoms, and sometimes infertility, making their timely removal essential. Today, minimally invasive surgery offers a revolutionary approach to managing such cases, ensuring safety, rapid recovery, and superior surgical outcomes. One of the pioneers in this field is Dr. R. K. Mishra, whose expertise at World Laparoscopy Hospital has set global standards in advanced laparoscopic procedures.

The technique of two-port laparoscopic round ligament fibroid removal exemplifies the modern evolution of gynecologic surgery. Unlike traditional open surgery, which requires large incisions, this approach utilizes only two small incisions: one for the laparoscope and one for the surgical instruments. This significantly reduces postoperative pain, accelerates recovery, minimizes scarring, and lowers the risk of infections. The two-port method requires meticulous planning, precision, and advanced laparoscopic skills, particularly when dealing with round ligament fibroids, which are often hidden and closely associated with important pelvic structures.

Under Dr. Mishra’s supervision, the procedure begins with careful patient evaluation and preoperative imaging to locate the fibroid accurately. During surgery, the laparoscope provides a magnified, high-definition view of the pelvis, allowing the surgeon to precisely isolate the fibroid. Using specialized instruments inserted through the second port, the fibroid is carefully dissected from the round ligament with minimal trauma to surrounding tissues. The removed fibroid is then extracted, often using morcellation techniques, without the need for a large incision. Dr. Mishra emphasizes patient safety, hemostasis, and preservation of reproductive function, which are hallmarks of his surgical approach.

The benefits of this minimally invasive two-port technique are profound. Patients experience less postoperative pain, faster mobilization, shorter hospital stays, and early return to daily activities. Additionally, the cosmetic outcome is excellent, as the small incisions leave minimal scarring. From a surgical training perspective, procedures like this also demonstrate the importance of skillful hands-on training and mentorship, as offered by World Laparoscopy Hospital under Dr. Mishra’s guidance. Surgeons learn not only technical skills but also the critical judgment required to navigate complex pelvic anatomy safely.

In conclusion, laparoscopic round ligament fibroid removal by two-port technique represents a milestone in modern gynecologic surgery. Dr. R. K. Mishra’s expertise at World Laparoscopy Hospital showcases how advanced laparoscopic methods can provide safe, effective, and patient-friendly solutions for challenging cases. This approach not only improves clinical outcomes but also enhances the overall experience for patients, reaffirming the promise of minimally invasive surgery in transforming women’s healthcare.

I benefited from watching this video i understand thank you so much for this video of Laparoscopic Round Ligament Fibroid Removal by Two Port. The round ligament mainly consists of smooth muscle fibers, connective tissues, vessels, and nerves. Uterine fibroids are one of the most common benign gynecological tumors and are derived from smooth muscle fibers. All your video posts are very nice. Keep up the hard work and good luck. Hope to see more such useful videos in future also.
