I'm 36, married, no kids yet. My scan says: A normal uterus measuring 49mm x41mm in length and width, with multiple (2) solid, hypoechoeic (submucous(1), intramural (1)) masses, the larger measuring 21mm x 18mm located posteriorly indicative of uterine fibroids. Endometrial plate is 5mm in thickness. Cervix is normal. Should I be worried? I have pains during my MP. |

Dear Soph A Sub-mucous fibroid is of concern. Intramural fibroid does not create much problem but submucous fibroid is a cause of infertility. Submucosal fibroids can vary in size and symptoms depends on how much of the fibroid protrudes into the uterine cavity and how much is in the muscle of the uterus. Submucous fibroid often cause heavy bleeding and long periods, but they can also cause irregular bleeding. By hysteroscopy these submucous fibroid can be removed. Please consult a good gynecologist or come to World Laparoscopy Hospital. |
