Dear Kamlesh It is true that treatment of PCOD is time taking. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a group of health problems brought on by out-of-balance hormones. It often involves irregular menstrual periods starting in puberty or difficulty conceiving a child. Regular exercise, a healthy diet plan, not smoking, and weight control are important areas of treatment for PCOS. Sometimes, also utilizing a medicine to balance hormones is useful. There is no cure for PCOS, but controlling it lowers your PCOS risks of infertility, miscarriages, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and uterine cancer. Initial treatment The initial step in managing pcos (PCOS) is getting regular exercise, eating a healthy diet plan, and not smoking. This can be a medical treatment for PCOS, not only a lifestyle choice. Additional treatments rely on your symptoms and whether you are planning for a pregnancy. If you are overweight, a small amount of weight reduction is likely to help balance your hormones and begin up your menstrual cycle and ovulation. Use regular exercise along with a healthy weight-loss diet as the first big treatment step. This is especially important if you are planning getting pregnant. If you smoke, consider quitting. Ladies who smoke have higher amounts of androgens than women who don't smoke.1 Smoking also increases your chance of cardiovascular disease. If you are planning a pregnancy and weight reduction doesn't enhance your fertility, your doctor might point to medicines that helps lower insulin. With weight loss, this could enhance your likelihood of ovulation and pregnancy. Fertility drug treatment also may help start ovulation. If you are not planning for a pregnancy, you may also use hormone therapy to assist take control of your ovary hormones. To correct menstrual cycle problems, birth control hormones keep your endometrial lining from accumulating for too much time. This is exactly what prevents uterine cancer. Hormone therapy can also help with male-type hair growth and acne.2Birth control pills, patches, or vaginal rings are prescribed for hormone therapy. Androgen-lowering spironolactone (Aldactone) is often used with estrogen-progestin oral contraceptives. This helps with hair thinning, acne, and male-pattern hair regrowth around the face and the body. Taking hormones doesn't help with heart, blood pressure level, cholesterol, and diabetes risks. This is why exercise along with a healthy diet really are a key part of your treatment. With regards M.K. Gupta |

I was diagnosed with PCOS a year ago this month, at that point my hnbuasd and I weren't trying to get pregnant so I wasn't put on medications to help us with that. Instead my doctor put me on birth control to help regulate my periods, and bam a month later I found out I was pregnant.I know this really doesn't answer your question but I hope that it gives you some hope that it is possible to conceive despite having PCOS. |
