i went to the doctor in december and had a pap test done. the doctor told me that she found some abnormal cells, but it was nothing to worry about. she said she had it tested for a sexually transmitted viral infection, but it came back clear. i recently went back to her to discuss my abnormal periods since the test. my periods have been lasting for 2 weeks on 2 weeks off. this last period i started bleeding february 21 and i am still spotting to this day march 17. she said that it is nothing to worry about and that it was too soon to do another internal exam. i also told her that it hurts when i am having sex, i bleed after sexual intercourse, i bleed when im on my feet for long periods of time, and she still tells me there is nothing to worry about. well, im worried and i just want to know what could be causing this and should i look for a new doctor. |

Dear Valerie Nearly all women experience abnormal uterine bleeding at least one time throughout their reproductive years. The most typical times that women experience heavy menstrual periods are throughout the first couple of many years of menstruation during adolescence and throughout the final two to three many years of menstruating before menopause. You have not written your age. Uterine bleeding is always abnormal when: * Bleeding occurs between periods * Bleeding occurs following sex * Spotting occurs anytime throughout the menstrual cycle * Bleeding is heavier than usual or lasts for more days than usual * Bleeding occurs after menopause Please get some more investigation done with the advise of your gynecologist if the bleeding does not stop within few week.
