Dear Shoba In our opinion you have simple cyst, the most typical kind of ovarian cyst, may be the follicular cyst of ovary, or graafian follicle cyst, or follicular cyst. These cyst can form when ovulation does not occur, and a follicle does not rupture or release its egg but rather grows until it becomes a cyst, or whenever a mature follicle involutes (collapses on itself). It usually forms during ovulation, and can grow to about 6cm (2.3 inches) across. It is thin-walled, lined by one or more layers of granulosa cell, and full of clear fluid. Ultrasound may be the primary tool accustomed to document the follicular cyst. A pelvic exam will even assisted in the diagnosis if the cysts are large enough to be seen. A physician monitors those to make certain they disappear, and looks at treatments if they do not disappear in due course of time. At present you should not do anything but in due course of time if the cyst will start growing you may need laparoscopic surgery to get your cyst removed. With regards M.K. Gupta |
