|My father,72, had been operated upon for CABG and MVR in 2003. He is on anticoagulant. Now, a 27mm stone has been detected in his GB. Cardiologists have advised to let the stone remain until there is a problem. What should I do and what is the possibility of pain or any other related problem.|

Asymptomatic Gallstone in cardiac patient may be left but sometime it develops complication. Gallstones can vary in size and shape from as small as a grain of sand to sometime as large as a tennis ball. The gallbladder may contain a single large stone in some patient or many smaller ones.
Pseudoliths, sometimes referred to as sludge, are thick mud like secretions that may be present within the gallbladder, either alone or in conjunction or in some patient with fully formed gallstones.
Your father has solitary big stone which may lead to complication but considering age and cardiac problem you can wait.
