|I am 39 yrs old woman who is planning to be pregnant through IVF but I have abdominal/umbilical hynia as well as two 2cm fibroids on the outside wall of my womb. I would like to treat both my Hynia and remove my fibroid via Laparascopic surgery if possible. I have fear of complication during pregnancy that is why I am concern. Please advise me.|

|Dear Kaaka Kumalia
2 CM subserous fibroid and small umbilical hernia both are not the cause of infirtility. In my opinion first you should get IVF done and you should get surgery done once you are sure about the family is complete.
Laparoscopic ventral hernia repair can be safe during pregnancy with appropriate fetal monitoring and consideration of physiologic changes that occur during parturition. Elective procedures should be delayed until after delivery and all semi-elective surgeries until organogenesis is completed during the second trimester.
Traditionally, there exists a reluctance to repair hernias in young fertile women, because of the possible disadvantageous impact on pregnancy, and possible association with a high risk of recurrence. Contrarily, no evidence exists to support
