Dear Arvind Nirmal

You are suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is really a chronic digestive disease that is the place gastric acid or, occasionally, bile flows back refluxes to your food pipe, esophagus.

The backwash of acid irritates the liner of your esophagus and results in GERD signs and symptoms. Indications of GERD include acid reflux and heartburn. Both are common digestive conditions that many people experience every once in awhile. When these signs and symptoms occur at least twice each week or hinder your daily life, doctors call this GERD.

Running out of energy manage the discomfort of heartburn with lifestyle changes and over-the-counter medications. But for people with GERD, these remedies may offer only temporary relief. Individuals with GERD may need stronger medications, even surgery, to lessen symptoms.

You may need surgery and fundoplication can be performed by laparoscopy. During fundoplication surgery, the upper curve of the stomach (the fundus) is wrapped round the esophagus and sewn into position so that the lower area of the esophagus passes through a small tunnel of stomach muscle.

This surgery strengthens the valve between the esophagus and stomach and lower esophageal sphincter, which stops acid from backing up in to the esophagus as quickly. This allows the esophagus to heal. This process could be done through the abdomen or the chest. The chest approach is often used if an individual is overweight or has a short esophagus. This procedure is usually done using a laparoscopic surgical technique. Outcomes of the laparoscopic technique would be best once the surgery is done by a surgeon with experience by using this procedure. If an individual includes a hernia, which could cause gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) symptoms, it will likewise be repaired during this surgery.

You can come for this surgery at our hospital or you can get this surgery performed ay any hospital specialized in laparoscopy.

With regards

J.S. Chowhan
