Dear Cristopher, Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is surgery to get rid of the adrenal diseases and any part or total of your adrenal gland is removed. It is almost always done when a small tumor is located around the adrenal gland. Small incisions are made in patient's abdomen and a laparoscope is inserted through the incisions. A laparoscope is really a long metal telescopic tube with a tiny video camera along with a light around the end. The laparoscopic camera displays high definition pictures of patient's adrenal glands on a monitor. The surgery is performed with the incisions designed for the laparoscope. The monitor can be used to guide the surgery tools to the right place. Just after surgery patient need pain medicine some time may need injectable medicine to consider away or decrease pain. Pain medicine can make you dizzy or sleepy. Prevent falls by calling someone when you get up out of bed or if you need help. After laparoscopic adrenalectomy surgery ntibiotics is provided to fight or prevent an infection caused by bacteria. Always take your antibiotics just as ordered by your surgeon. Don't stop taking your antibiotic medicine unless directed by your surgeon. Never save antibiotics or take leftover antibiotics which were provided to you for another illness. Take your medicine as directed and have a current list of the medicines, vitamins, and herbs you take. Range from the amounts, and when, how, and why you drive them. Go ahead and take list or even the pill bottles to follow-up visits. Carry your medicine list along with you in the event of an emergency. Discard old medicine lists. Follow up with your primary doctor or endocrinologist as directed: Your surgeon will remove your stitches. You may also need blood tests to check on your adrenal hormone levels. Jot down the questions you have so you remember to ask them on your visits. Follow most of your healthcare provider's instructions on when you can bathe. Gently wash the part of the body which has the stitches or staples. Do not rub around the laparoscopic surgery port site stitches to dry your skin. Pat the region gently having a clean towel. When the area is dry, put on a clean, new bandage as directed. With regards J.S. Chowhan |
