My Aorta was lacerated during a Laparoscopic Cholosystectomy in March of 2011. My organs were short of oxygen and the doctor who did it has never really told me what happened or what to expect in the future. He knew that I had had prior abdominal surgery and there were adhesions. Please can I speak to someone about what I should expect in future Medical Problems, and how it could have been avoided. I was in intensive care and then 2 days after the injury I believe I bled internally and had to be opened again from my breast bone to my pubic bone. He used a Verdes needle which I tought was used in Robotic Surgery.

Dear Lois Hofmann

We can only give you some idea if we will know the exact what surgeon deed. This may be your apprehension that aorta was injured. Do you have any operative note given by your surgeon. Even though it was injured and if repaired successfully and once you are safe and alive it should not do any problem in future. Aorta is very thick blood vessel and once repaired you
should never be afraid that it will decrease the blood supply. Please protect yourself from going into any depression.

Please let us know if you have any document of surgery so that we can help you better.

With regard
