I am a 68 year old post-menopausal women on HRT since age 55yrs. Following an MRI scan on my pelvic area for a kidney problem it was discovered that I had 2 cysts in my right ovary measuring 33cm and 47cm respectively. MY GP sent me for an endo-vaginal ultrasound which confirmed this and it also picked up a 30mm fibroid in mu uterus. The thickness of my endometrium is only 3mm and I have no symptoms except slight spotting if I forget to take my hormone tablets. MY GP wants me to see a gynaecologist but I don't want unnecessary surgery or any further transvaginal examinations as I find them traumatic. What could happen if I do nothing. |

Dear Sukanya The size of the cyst that you have mention here should be check again it should be mm and not cm. Anyway the size of the cyst as well as of the fibroid is not so big. You dont need to worry as it is not going to harm you. Symptoms like adbominal pain heavy bleeding can be there but if it is not bothering you than you need to go for the surgery. But if start troubling you than you need to go for the surgery. |
