After the laparoscopic removal of a burst appendix which involved severe pus and faeces in the peritoneum my daughter has not made the expected recovery. It is 3 weeks since the surgery and she has abdominal pain and nausea. She does not have a temperature. Abdominal xrays reveal nothing abnormal and a urine test was normal and her C reactive protein has come down from 400 to 4. Nobody seems to know what is going on and she is in a terrible state. Can you point us in any directions? We are desparate. She has been to the GP 4 times this week and we still have no clue as to what the problem might be. Thanks sooooo much for offering this online service. Looking forward to your reply. |

Dear Meg Thomas We can understand the agony you are suffering from. In order to help you we need the OT note written by doctor and all the report. If you can send these reports by email attachment then we can draw some conclusion. Peritonitis an inflammation and infection of the membrane which has the organs inside abdomen after brust appendix can be brought on by other gastrointestinal and bowel diseases, which makes it necessary to treat these conditions as speedily and effectively as possible. The first task to treating peritonitis can be a course of strong antibiotics. Peritonitis will be the inflammation and infection of the peritoneum. The peritoneum is a thin covering that protects the organs within abdomen, and can become infected. With regards M K Gupta |
