|Dear Anand Singh
Your spouse need diagnostic laparoscopy and tubal patency test to see that the tubes are patent or not. Sometime it is possible that blocked tube will open. For polycystic ovary you should get ovarian drilling and it can be performed at same time while preforming diagnostic laparoscopy.
Surgery is recommended if the medical treatment fail as well as for ladies who have experienced OHSS. This can be ovarian drilling or ovarian wedge resection. It is not clear why women with PCOS ovulate after ovarian drilling or wedge resection. After surgery, ovulation occurs spontaneously in 70-90% of ladies and the probability of pregnancy after twelve months is incorporated in the region of 40-60%.
There isn't any increased risk of multiple pregnancy or OHSS. If ovulatory cycles neglect to restore after the surgery, a doctor may restart ovulation induction. Research conducted recently as much as 20 years after laparoscopic drilling has shown persistence of ovulation over many years. In contrast to treatment, it only need be practiced once and intensive monitoring is not needed. The main problems associated with surgery include adhesion formation, the risk of destruction from the ovaries resulting in ovarian failure. Additionally, there are risks associated with surgery and anaesthesia.
Laparoscopic ovarian drilling is really a surgical treatment that may trigger ovulation in women with pcos (PCOS) who've not taken care of immediately weight reduction and fertility medication. Electrocautery or laser is used to destroy servings of the ovaries.
Laparoscopy is generally done with general anaesthesia. A small incision is made in the abdomen in the navel. A tube is used to inflate the abdomen with a small amount of co2 gas therefore the laparoscope could be inserted without harm to the abdominal organs.
The surgeon looks through the laparoscope in the internal organs. Surgical instruments may be inserted through the same incision or other small incisions in the pelvic area.
