|Dear Mrs Arora
You should get laparoscopic myomectomy performed. A myomectomy is definitely an operation to get rid of fibroids while preserving the uterus if myoma is symptomatic. For ladies who have fibroid symptoms and want to have children later on, myomectomy is the best treatment option.
Please keep in mind that laparoscopic Myomectomy is extremely effective, but fibroids can re-grow. The younger you are and also the more fibroids you have during the time of myomectomy, the more likely you will be to develop fibroids again later on. Women nearing menopause are the least likely to have recurring problems from fibroids following a myomectomy.
A myomectomy can be performed several different ways. Depending on the size, number and placement of the fibroids, you may be entitled to an abdominal myomectomy, a laparoscopic myomectomy or perhaps a hysteroscopic myomectomy in case of submucous myoma.
In a laparascopic myomectomy, four one-centimeter incisions are made in the low abdomen: one in the navel, one below the bikini line near the pubic hair, and one near each hip. The abdominal cavity is stuffed with co2 gas. A skinny, lighted telescope is placed with an incision so the doctors can easily see the ovaries, fallopian tubes and uterus. Long instruments, inserted through the other incisions, are utilized to take away the fibroids. The uterine muscle will be sewn back together by laparoscopic surgeon by extracorporeal or intracorporeal knotting, the CO2 gas is released and also the skin incisions are closed.
Laparoscopic surgery has faster recovery less pain and due to good quality of morcellator even the big size fibroid can be removed.
