|Dear Mr Modi
I think your father has low ejection fraction of the heart what you are talking about. Reversing or taking out the precipitating factor is usually successful inside a patient with acute superior mesenteric artery (SMA) syndrome. Conservative initial therapy is recommended in most patients with superior mesenteric artery syndrome; including adequate nutrition, nasogastric decompression, and proper positioning in the patient after consuming (ie, left lateral decubitus, prone, knee-to-chest position, or Goldthwaite maneuver) Enteral feeding utilizing a double lumen nasojejunal tube passed distal to the obstruction under fluoroscopic help is an efficient adjunct in management of patients with rapid severe weight reduction and in addition eliminates the requirement for intravenous fluids along with the risks linked to total parenteral nutrition.
In some instances, both enteral and parenteral nutritional support are usually necessary to offer optimal calories. The patient's weight needs to be monitored daily. Subsequently, the patient could be began on oral liquids then slow and gradual introduction of small and frequent soft meals as tolerated. Finally, regular food are introduced. Metoclopramide treatment is advisable. Review of the orthopedic literature reveals that this rate of success is 100 percent with medical management only in cases with an acute presentation of superior mesenteric artery syndrome.
So your father need to remain constantly under the supervision of a good physician. and Conservative treatment should be tried.
