|I am Humaira Aqeel from Pakistan. Doctor diagnose left ovarian cyst & suggested operation.I reproduced here my ultrasound report.
Redemonstration of a complex cyst in left adnexa measuring 71 x 64 x 69 mm. The cystic portion shows internal echogenic lines and dots along with an intracystic echogenic structure producing posterior shadowing representing classification / fat.
No increased vascularity is identified. Appearances are consistent with known left dermoid cyst. Left ovary is not separately identified. Right ovary is enlarged measuring 56 x 40 mm and showing a cyst measuring 23 x 26mm.Cyst is showing a few fine linear echoes, could represent intracystic hacmorrhage.
Minimal fluid in cul-de-sac is seen.Uterus is anteverted and normal in size. A small intramural fibroid measuring 8 x 5 mm is noted. Eddometrial thickness measure 10 mm.
Laparoscopic or open surgery is best in my case? Is this procedure damage my ovary? how many chances of Pregnancy i have after this procedure?

|Dear Humaira Aqeel
For Dermoid cyst laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy is better option. Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy is a Minimal Access Surgical excision of an ovarian cyst. Ovarian cysts are small fluid-filled sacs or solid like dermoid in your case that develop on the ovaries. Ovaries are the almond shaped organs located one on each side of the uterus. Once a month, during your menstrual cycle, a follicle forms on your ovary. A follicle is a fluid filled sac that contains an egg. Usually a follicle release mature egg from your ovary ovulation. Individuals with ovarian cysts often do not experience any however some women may experience pressure, swelling, pain in the abdomen, pain during intercourse and abnormal or unusually painful periods.
You should try to get this surgery as soon as possible.
