Dear Hamid Recurrence after percutaneous or laparoscopic aspiration cyst is common. I dont know your surgeon has done ethanol ablation or not. Ethanol ablation (PEA) of benign renal cysts has been common, resulting in re-treatment or additional surgery. However, in recent years, a few cases of spontaneous regression of recurrent cysts following PEA have been experienced, which led to the design of this study to evaluate cyst recurrence after PEA and the necessity of additional treatment. The possible causes of this recurrence and the limitations of the laparoscopic procedure are discussed. Technical modifications are recommended in order to reduce the risk of recurrence. Treatment with alcohol revealed no recurrences in many cases with months. No major complications were encountered. With regards M K Gupta |
