My husbands surgeon following the Da Vinci Robotic removal of his prostate in Nov 2010 relayed the pathologist's report that among the lymph nodes removed that although nothnig appeared in 2 nodes which were removed that in the fatty tissue OUTSIDE the capsule malignant cells appear in a lymph node. the recommended radiation WITH ADT prior is being recommended. However I have done extensive reding. research which shows for example that the side effects of LUPRON are BIG red flags. Is there a way that a laproscopic "re entry" could be performed to remove the suspected fatty tissue with the lymph nodes suspected? Also what is the over view of just using the radiation ALONE without ADT etc. He is 74, 5'10' 197 lbs ( justt lost 13 lbs by eliminating , pasta, BREAD, rice increasing fish, veggies, fruits, nuts etc. Basically Dr. M.' " 17 Day Diet" Consumption of dairy very limited, some cheese, no milk, but some yogurt. I have him on Lycopene ( 30 mgs daily), IMMPOWER, a mushroom derivative to up immune systems T-cells, Krill oil and try to eliminate sugar as much as possible. He does no nor has he ever smoked, rarely drinks alcohol, plays golf 3 times a week weather permitting. Ha a great disposition! Looking at his breasts I suspect he is estrogen dominatn, has been diagnosed by his M.D. with "metabolic syndrome" ( triglys. over 300!!!, now getting serious about eliminating the french fries etc!!!) Thank you so much that this site and service is available, it might save ME from collapsing! |

Dear Guffey In you patient case pathologist has found report that among the lymph nodes removed that although nothnig appeared in 2 nodes that reflect the staging of cancer. Prostate cancer grade refers to its degree of aggressiveness. The prostate cancer grading system is known as the Gleason score. Gleason is a pathologist who devised a system that scales from 2 (the least aggressive form of prostate cancer) up to 10 (the most aggressive form). The majority of men with prostate cancer have Gleason 5 |

Dear Guffey Re-Entry after previous surgery is very difficult. After Walsh et al popularized the technique of anatomic nerve-sparing radical surgery of prostate either by laparoscopy or Robotic Surgery is ideal. However, both approaches are contraindicated in individuals who have undergone previous pelvic surgery due to extensive adhesion and fibrosis Division of the urachus and entry into the space of Retzius is very difficult. We request you to please contact the same team of doctor who has performed your previous surgery. With regards Sadhana |
