Dear Mrs Haq Adenomyosis is uterine thickening that occurs when endometrial tissue, which normally lines the uterus, moves in to the outer muscular walls from the uterus. The gross ultrasonographic description of adenomyosis includes irregular, myometrial, cystic spaces predominantly involving the posterior uterine wall, an enlarged uterus having a widened posterior wall, an eccentric endometrial cavity, and decreased uterine echogenicity without lobulations, contour abnormality, or mass effects. Most women possess some adenomyosis because they near menopause but few for women who live symptoms, and most women do not require any treatment. In some cases, pain medicine may be required. Birth control pills and a progesterone-containing intrauterine device (IUD) can help decrease heavy bleeding. A hysterectomy might be necessary in women with severe symptoms. If you think your problem is not getting benefited by any medicine we can perform laparoscopic hysterectomy for you. Dr J S Chowhan |
