Dear Sir, My age is 34 year. I am have got one laparoscopic surgery 3 week ago and recovering from a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy which I had exactly 3 week ago. The laparoscopic surgery was advised by a gynecologist following the discovery of a dermoid cyst on my right ovary which appeared to be growing rapidly. The laparoscopic operation took considerably longer than expected as having had two previous c-sections. I had a lot of adhesions as my gynecologist said that my uterus was fused to the abdominal wall and other areas needed freeing up before the laparoscopic surgery could commence. But even after surgery I have same pain as I was having before. Please advice me what should I do. Should I have to go for surgery again. Waiting for your reply. |

Dear Kumkum Sinha You should send all pre and post operation details for giving advice. In normal circumstances for ovarian dermoid cyst only dermoid cyst is removed and the ovary is preserved. In your case bilateral salpingoophrectomy has been done along with adhesiolysis. Pain for 3 to 4 weeks after the surgery is normal and it should gradually settle down. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
