Dear Mrs Gowri It appears scary, but ovarian drilling is fairly simple and easy non-surgical. Ovarian drilling is a laparoscopic procedure performed under general anesthesia. The surgery is typically done with an outpatient basis with minimal recovery time. This is one way ovarian drilling works: Your surgeon makes a small incision through your belly button. 2. He or she inserts a tube into the abdomen, filling it with co2. This inflates your abdomen and prevents problems for your organs. 3. A thin telescope having a camera attached is inserted into the abdomen, allowing your surgeon to watch your organs and ovaries. Guided with the camera, choices inserts special tools and uses electricity to produce very small holes in your ovaries. With PCOS, your ovaries have a thick outer surface, which can affect what you can do to conceive. Ovarian drilling breaks from the ovary's thick surface, destroys small portions of it, and boosts fertility. After ovarian drilling, testosterone production decreases and a lot of women ovulate more regularly. You must wait for 3-4 month fo If the periods become regular after ovarian drilling, the chances of you pregnancy are good. About half of most ladies go through with ovarian drilling become pregnant within one full year. Even if your cycles tend not to be regular after ovarian drilling, maybe you have better success in enabling pregnant with the help of fertility drugs. For a lot of women, the benefits of ovarian drilling are short-lived. PCOS symptoms and fertility problems may return as time passes, as well as your periods may be irregular again. Please remain in touch with your gynecologist. With regards M K Gupta |
