Dear Sir/Madam, This Sourav from Kolkata. I had a Gall Bladder surgery 3 years back, but a part of it was left out due to some complications. It was an open surgery. Now from some 10 days back, i'm again having pain in my stomach. We consulted a Gastroenterologist here. After doing USG (Upper Abdomen) and MRCP it is found to Hypertrophied cystic duct stump showing filling defect within it - likely to be calculus. We want to know whether it can be cured with the help of medication or we have to go for an operation. And we have to go for an operation, then can it be removed through Laproscopic or it needs to be opened. Since already it had been operated once, so we are very much afraid of a next one. Dear Sourav Guha Stone in the cystic duct has to be removed surgically. There is no medical management for this. As regards open vs laparoscopy this decision will be taken after examining the patient. Thanks With bRegards Dr J S Chowhan |
