I had a laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair on August 21. The first day I felt great and may have overdone my activity and also had a solid meal for dinner that day. My night was also good, and in the morning I went down stairs as usual made my coffee and went to sit down, at this point my trouble began. I experienced a severe sharp knife stabbing pain in the groin and it felt like something warm gushing inside. Up until this point I had not required any pain medication, but since have started taking the prescribed 1-2 Tylenol #3 every 4 hours. The pain is still excruciating when I try to stand. I am bed ridden at this time, which is approximately 48 hours post op..My question is.Is this a normal recovery from laparoscopic hernia repair, is the warm gushing sensation anything to worry about and should I go to ER. The surgeon and my family doctor's office is closed.Thank you for your time and I hope to hear a response soon. |

Dear Ron Marcotte Probably this pain you are getting due to little migration of mesh which is pressing nerve. You should consult the surgeon who has performed the surgery and take rest. You should avoid walking for few days. Bed rest. With regard J S Chowhan |
