I underwent buttonhole family planning operation in 2003, i am 35 years old now,i was remarried an year ago, i consulted doctor for re canalization however, she said success rate of conceiving will be 3 to 5% only after re operation. I wanted to take second opinion, kindly advice me whether the information received is right or not |

Dear Vani The success of recanalisation depends on number of factors. The age of the lady, the ovarian reserve, the method of sterilisation used, and the length of the tube after recanalisation. If all the factors are favourable then the success rate is 60-80%. Thanks With Regards Dr J S Chowhan |
