I found your details on the internet. Please would you be able to tell me what went wrong with my TEP laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair. I enclose the post op photos. I expect to pay your professional fees for doing this. I am desperate to know what went wrong. The surgeon says nothing went wrong. History: Female right inguinal hernia, very small 3-4 cms, 64 yo, BMI 21 very fit, active lifestyle, flat abdomen. TEP laparoscopic repair 24 hours post op, excruciating pain, BP 106/69 incontinent urine which was dark brown, 2-3 mls bright red blood bulging from right incision dressing. Icm circular black mark 1 cm above right incision. 5 cm umbilical incision. Abdomen extremely distended and agony 2 cm painful epigastric lump with subcutaneous emphysema. 48 hours post op bruising developing lower right abdomen and right loin. Urine brown and incontinent 5 days. Took 3 weeks before I was able to walk properly. S/c emphysema reabsorbed but left with 3 ventral wall hernias diagnosed by ultrasound. Constant nausea, reflux, trapped gas, only eat small meals. I year on abdomen still potbellied despite core strengthening exercise. I would be so grateful for your help. |

Dear Samual James TEP hernia repair sometime has these complication. you had few short term complication like subcutaneous emphysema and bruise and pain. Your these symptoms are now over as it is 1 year now. Present symptoms of constant nausea, reflux etc is probable due to obstructive features of recent ventral hernia which you have developed. Please get one contrast CT done to rule out any obstruction. The complete diagnosis is only possible if we examine the patient.
