Sir,
My mother is 56 year old, she had her gallbladder removed via laparoscopy in the month of July/2011, however she was informed the she has CBD and need to be operated. We do not approve or open operation and are looking for non surgical method for the removal. Kindly suggest. Otherwise she has no other complication medically.

Thanks & regard,
Irfan

Dear Irfan
It seems that your surgeon might have told you that your mother have stone in CBD. This is called as choledocholithiasis. Choledocholithiasis is the presence of gallstones in the common bile duct. This condition causes jaundice and liver cell damage, and is a medical emergency, requiring the endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedure or surgical treatment. A tendency for this disease can be inherited. While stones can frequently pass through the common bile duct into the duodenum.

If ERCP fails then Robotic Surgery i.e. Robotic Choledocolithotomy is one good option for CBD stone.

At World Laparoscopy Hospital we are performing Robotic Choledocholithotomy.

With regards

M.K. Gupta
