Will I still be able to vomit after fundoplication surgery if I get the flu or food poisoning? |

Dear Carla It is not true that after fundoplication there will be absolute no vomiting. If your body wants to get it out, it will, if it's something like a bad stomach bug. Some people claim they keep anti nausea medicine handy, but I haven't ever had the need to have it. Nowadays we do floppy fundoplication and in this you can get vomiting if it is needed.
