Today doctors attended a live interactive session of Laparoscopic nephrectomy. The patient was 63 years lady who presented with h/o fever for two months and ultrasonography revealed left  pyonephrosis.  PCN was done and Left Nephrostogram done two weeks later shown complete obstruction in ureter at the level of sacroiliac joint. Bilateral DTPA renal scan shown poorly functioning left kidney with GFR of 13 ml. After consultation with relatives Laparoscopic Nephrectomy was planned. Anterior transperitoneal approach used . The descending colon and splenic flexure mobilised. Gerota's fascia incised. The kidney had dense adhesions. The renal pedical exposed. The renal artery clipped with Hemolockand divided. The renal vein clipped and divided. The ureter clipped and divided. Various other adrenal and lumbar vessels were secured. The kidney retrieved by enlarging the paraumbilical port.
