Good morning everyone, and welcome to the first day of the minimal access surgery batch for August 2022. I am honored to be here today to deliver the introductory lecture on minimal access surgery, and to demonstrate the Top Gun drill exercise to surgeons, gynecologists, and urologists.
Minimal access surgery, also known as laparoscopic surgery, is a minimally invasive surgical technique that uses small incisions and specialized instruments to access the inside of the body. This technique has revolutionized the field of surgery, offering patients less pain, faster recovery times, and fewer complications compared to traditional open surgery.
During this lecture, I will be providing an overview of the principles of minimal access surgery, including the types of instruments used and the techniques involved in performing laparoscopic procedures. We will also be discussing the latest advancements and best practices in the field.
After the lecture, we will be moving on to the Top Gun drill exercise, which is designed to help surgeons, gynecologists, and urologists improve their laparoscopic skills. This exercise involves using specialized instruments to navigate through a series of obstacles and perform precise movements, challenging participants to use their cognitive and technical abilities to complete the task efficiently and accurately.
Throughout this session, our instructors will be available to answer any questions you may have and to provide guidance and feedback on your technique. We encourage you to take full advantage of this valuable learning opportunity and to use the skills and knowledge you gain to improve your practice and provide the best possible care for your patients.
Thank you for your attention, and let's get started with the introductory lecture on minimal access surgery and the Top Gun drill exercise.
