Good morning everyone, and welcome to this interactive laparoscopic wet lab session. Today, we will be practicing a variety of laparoscopic procedures on live tissue, including tubal sterilization, salpingostomy, ovarian drilling, hysterectomy, cholecystectomy, and appendectomy surgery.
During this session, you will have the opportunity to work with experienced instructors and collaborate with your colleagues to perform these procedures on live tissue. We will be providing guidance and feedback on your technique, as well as discussing the latest advancements and best practices in each procedure.
Tubal sterilization and salpingostomy are common procedures used in gynecology to prevent pregnancy or treat infertility. These procedures involve the use of laparoscopic techniques to access the fallopian tubes and make either permanent or temporary changes to their structure.
Ovarian drilling is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). This procedure involves making small holes in the ovary using a laparoscopic instrument, which can help to regulate hormone levels and improve fertility.
Hysterectomy is a surgical procedure used to remove the uterus, and it can be performed using a laparoscopic approach. This procedure can be used to treat a range of conditions, including uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and uterine prolapse.
Cholecystectomy and appendectomy are common procedures performed by surgeons to treat gallbladder and appendix problems, respectively. These procedures can be performed using a laparoscopic approach, which results in less pain, faster recovery times, and fewer complications compared to traditional open surgery.
Throughout this session, we will be focusing on the latest techniques and advancements in laparoscopic surgery, as well as providing hands-on experience with live tissue. We encourage you to take full advantage of this valuable learning opportunity and to use the skills and knowledge you gain to improve your practice and provide the best possible care for your patients.
Thank you for your attention, and let's get started with the interactive laparoscopic wet lab session.
