Institute: WLHLaparoscopy is advantageous for patient to deal with surgical diseases, yet tying knot and applying sutures within the cavity inflated by carbon dioxide is a challenge. A knot to secure tissue approximation, which would be hand-made, secure, simple, easy, quick, reliable. Knot can be extracorporeal and intra-corporeal and extracorporeal without extra mechanical devices, was developed.
A comparative study from the Mishra knot, the Roeder knot, and the classical surgical knot, because the gold standard, using polypropylene, silk, catgut, polyglycolic acid, and Polyglactin, was performed in pigs. Measurements were time to perform, slippage, and breaking point that was measured having a manual digital tensometer. The Mishra knot was significantly faster statistically to do compared to Roeder knot and much more resistant against rupture and slippage.
