Today the doctors learnt the Tumble Square knot. The tail should measure 2cms longer than the gap between the edges of the tissue to be approximated. One half knot is taken and the knot is placed towards the needle side suture. The suture is placed in reverse C and another half knot is tied. Caution is taken not to pull the tail. The needle suture is pulled at 5 O clock position. The two half knots are tumbled and made to lie straight. The needle end is pulled and the knots are pushed by the maryland. When the knot is tightened a buttock sign is demonstrated where the two edges appear like two buttocks of a n infant. Now the knot is untumbled by pulling the tail and finally a securing half knot is tied.
