Dear Poornima

Bilateral polycystic ovarian syndrome (condition): A condition from the ovaries ladies containing various impacts on female hormones. PCOS is the acronym for polycystic ovarian syndrome. PCOS is a type of condition in ladies is caused by the creation of multiple cysts on ovaries tend not to go away by themselves.

The root cause of PCOS is really a condition called insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is a result of your bodys manufacture of high levels of insulin in order to control blood sugar. Excessive insulin causes the ovaries to produce a lot of the hormone testosterone and also other male sex hormones.

PCOS might cause serious problems to health and fertility. PCOS is known as a form of prediabetes. PCOS can be connected to coronary disease and type 2 diabetes.

Signs and symptoms of PCOS normally include irregular menstrual periods or no menstrual periods (amenorrhea). Complications may include infertility. For more information on symptoms and complications, talk about symptoms of PCOS.

Making a proper diagnosis of PCOS starts off with taking a thorough personal and family history, including symptoms, and completing a physical examination. A pelvic examination is also performed to examine within the vagina, the cervix from the uterus, also to feel and palpate the ovaries and measure the health and wellness of the woman's reproductive organs. During this examination, the care provider just might feel the presence of a cysts on ovaries that can result in PCOS.

Diagnostic testing carries a blood test that will detect abnormally high degrees of testosterone, a hormone normally present in a female's body in control. PCOS creates a woman's ovaries to produce too much testosterone.
