This video demonstrates laparoscopic management of perforated appendicitis. Laparoscopic appendectomy is a safe and effective procedure for the treatment of simple appendicitis. The laparoscopic approach is superior to open appendectomy in terms of postoperative wound infections, analgesic requirement, hospital length of stay), return to work, and overall recovery. With the advance of laparoscopic instruments and accumulated experience in using Laparoscopic appendectomy for uncomplicated appendicitis, Laparoscopic appendectomy has been more frequently used for perforated appendicitis.
