A 38 years old lady PG. 39 weeks . Underwent elective .cs.it was easy with no complication .
On second day of operation of started to develop distention. Surgical consult digest that it is illus .
NG tube inserted but pt did not improved pt was stable no signs of peritonities .
X ray showed signs of intestinal obstruction so laparatomy done
Findings dilated large bowel no mechanical obstruction
On the following day pt given neostigmen but not improved. Pt vitally stable .
2 days later pt developed sepsis laparatomy done
Findings

perforated ceacum and ascending colon, no clear underlying cause, patchy necrosis
limited right hemicolectomy with ileostomy done
pt vitally stable
Please for your opinion regarding diagnosis

Dear Dr Mohammad Atieh

It is very unfortunate and unlikely complication. In my opinion it may be due to electrosurgical inruy. The best judge to explain will be operating Gynecologist.
