what is the indication for repairing the hiatus hernia during laparoscopic gastric sleeve, or it is better to repair in all situations? |

Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy with concomitant hiatus hernia repair improved GERD symptoms or the need for daily antisecretory therapy only in a third of symptomatic patients. In patients with a documented hiatal hernia. Routine hiatus hernia repair does not lead to GERD resolution or prevention after LSG. If hiatus hernia is already present then it should be repaired otherwise not necessary. |
